How to avoid Mental Fatique
A fire that burns big and bright, is beautiful and hot but if the doesn’t get the fuel it needs, it will eventually die out.
Such is life. If you are always on the go, never stopping, always the next thing in hand, always running, always chasing, your fuel will eventually run out. Just like the fire. Without wood, there’s no fire. Without sustenance and a break, you will start to break down.
So how can you tell if you’re headed for a burn out?
- Notice your emotions and your body. What is it telling you?
- Notice, is your work affected by your fatique? Are you making silly mistakes?
- Notice how you are with people around you.
- Notice your behaviour around people.
It’s easy to prevent yourself from mental fatique / burnout:
These are easy steps to follow:
- Take short breaks, pamper yourself to a spa
- Take walks around nature or the park
- Slow breathing exercise, calming yourself down
- When you’re overwhelm, take a step back and maybe a staycation away for a few days.
You have one life. If you’re not at your best mentally and physically, you will make mistakes at work, and suffer health problems.
Instead of having your fire burn so big and bright, have it burn constantly at a steady pace.
